1994-2001 Dodge Ram Extended Cab Upfire Fiberglass Ported Sub Box
The 1994-2001 Dodge Ram Extended Cabs are extremely popular trucks, but as with anything of this age, the stereo system needs some serious improvement. This box will help with that. The box fits up under the back seat and is an upfire box to get the most airspace out of the truck and to get the most practical use of space. It’s made to hold one sub under each back seat and it takes up all the space that is under there. It is 2.0cuft of total airspace and has a mounting depth of 5 1/4″ for 10s and 5″ for 12s. Plenty of space to get some good equipment in there.
Installation requires removal of the jack kit and storage tray from under the back seat. Other than that, it’s a super easy installation.
This is our ported design which can accommodate up to two 10″ subs or 12″ subs. Even a couple of 8s or 6 1/2″ subs. These are all made to order so we have a lot of options with it. This design is for maximum airspace and the depth of the box can be reduced if desired. Ported subwoofer boxes are for customers who want louder, deeper bass with the lower bass more pronounced. Because of the ported design, the bass will not be as tight and punchy as a sealed box, but there is double the bass of a sealed box with the same subs. A sealed subwoofer box has a tight and punchy bass that is more articulate and truer to the music with a more natural sound. If tight, punchy bass is what you want then our sealed box will be what you want.
This design is for maximum airspace and the airspace of the box can be reduced if desired. Our ported boxes are designed according to your subwoofer’s specifications. No two boxes will really be alike. At checkout, there is a Comment box, please give us the model number of your subs and we will build the box as needed. We tend to tune our boxes deep, around 34-37hz. If you have any specific requests, please feel free to let us know.
This box is made of 3/4″ MDF for the top baffle and the fiberglass-reinforced frame. And the whole bottom is fiberglass to form to the contours of the floor and get all that airspace. Then it is fully carpeted in plush, matching carpet to match the truck as much as possible. The nickel-plated spring-loaded speaker terminals are mounted on the back of the box and the speaker wires are soldered on for a solid and reliable connection.
