1997-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sub Box Medium Ported

The Jeep Wrangler has been a popular off-road vehicle for decades and they have been gaining popularity as daily drivers. The more time people spend in them the more luxury items the drivers want, mainly the stereo. Jeeps are noisy vehicles with the open tops and knobby tires so it takes more volume to overcome the road noise. My Down Fire boxes for 1997-2006 Jeeps will fill in the bottom end of the lacking stereo, give some bass for fun and help over power the road noise. This sub box has 1.37cuft total airspace so it can be for one to three subs, either 8s or 10s with enough space to do a ported box for extra volume and deeper bass. The box’s wedge design is a tight fit and helps ensure security. Once the seat is back and the gate is locked it is not going to come out. The seat will not fold forward without opening the gate to move the box so it is very secure. A downfire box works best in an open-air vehicle like a Jeep because the loading effect of the downfire design helps to get a little more output since there is no cabin gain in an open-air vehicle like this.

This is our ported design. This design is for maximum airspace and the airspace of the box can be reduced if desired. Our ported boxes are designed according to your subwoofer’s specifications. No two boxes will really be alike. At checkout, there is a Comment box, please give us the model number of your subs and we will build the box as needed. This is a ported subwoofer box. Ported subwoofer boxes are for customers who want louder, deeper bass with the lower bass more pronounced. Because of the ported design, the bass will not be as tight and punchy as a sealed box, but there is double the bass of a sealed box with the same subs. A sealed subwoofer box has a tight and punchy bass that is more articulate and truer to the music with a more natural sound. If tight, punchy bass is what you want then our sealed box will be what you want.

This box is made of 3/4″ MDF and is fully carpeted in matching carpet. The nickel-plated spring-loaded speaker terminals are mounted on the back of the box and the speaker wires are soldered on for a solid and reliable connection.
