1997-1999 Ford F150 Extended Cab Sub Box Dual Sealed
This is the 1995-97 Ford F150 Extended Cab Sub Box. The 1997-99 Ford F-150 Extended Cab trucks have a very odd seat design, instead of flipping up like most other trucks, it folds forward and makes a tray. Rather handy design but it really limits the amount of space under that seat. The best way to get a decent sub under there is to space the seat up off the floor. Without spacing up the seat, the box would only be 5 1/2″ tall and would only fit a sub that is less than 4” deep. My design has a mounting depth of 5 1/2″ if our steel plates are used and 4 3/4″ if they are not. It also comes with the needed spacers and bolts to get the job done. It is only 12” deep so it won’t stick out from under the rear seat giving you more foot room for the passengers. It will hold two 10” subs with .6cuft of airspace each. Since there is such a small amount of airspace available I only make this box for 8s and 10s, not 12s. Even for most shallow mount 12s, .6cuft is just not enough airspace. My boxes are designed to sound good, not just make noise. The middle brace will need to be removed but the seat will still rest on the new box and support it.
This box is made out of 3/4″ MDF and is fully carpeted in matching carpet. The nickle plated spring loaded speaker terminals are mounted on the back of the box and the speaker wires are soldered on for a solid and reliable connection.
This is a sealed subwoofer box. A sealed subwoofer box has a tight and punchy bass that is more articulate and more true to the music with a more natural sound. For customers who want louder deeper bass with the lower bass more pronounced. Because of the ported design, the bass will not be as tight and punchy, but there is double the bass of a sealed box with the same subs. If big bass is what you want then our ported box will be what you want.
