2006-2012 Dodge Ram Mega Cab Sub Box Downfire Ported

In 2006, Dodge decided that people want to use their trucks for work. So, to accommodate, they made the truck bigger by giving it more space behind the seat for tools and storage. Now for a stereo guy like me, the first thing that came to my mind was “Finally a truck with room for a killer stereo.” This design for the 2006-2012 Dodge Ram Mega Cab is about the least intrusive design that I have. What this box does is replace the cargo bins that are in the bottom of the cargo area. The bin comes out with a few bolts and this box drops right in. The fold down flaps that cover the gap between the rear seats and the storage bin also can be unbolted. The box will fit with them in place but it is a tight fit and are not needed once the box is installed. Once the box is installed, the rear seats will no longer recline either. The box is designed so that when the seat back is folded down, but not sitting on the floor, the top of the box is level with the back of the seat so that cargo space is retained. It is a down fire box with 2.9cuft of airspace with 10 3/4″ of mounting depth. This box can be configured for a wide combination of 8” and 10” subs with up to four 10” subs sealed. There is enough space to fit up to four 8s or a couple of 10s ported which would also sound nice. Let me know if there is anything you want done and I will build it for you.

This is our ported design. This design is for maximum airspace and the airspace of the box can be reduced if desired. Our ported boxes are designed according to your subwoofer’s specifications. This box is made of 3/4″ MDF and is fully carpeted in matching carpet. The nickel-plated spring-loaded speaker terminals are mounted on the back of the box and the speaker wires are soldered on for a solid and reliable connection.
