2006-2012 Dodge Ram Mega Cab Sub Box Downfire with Recline Sealed
In 2006, Dodge decided that people want to use their trucks for work. So to accommodate, they made the truck bigger by giving it more space behind the seat for tools and storage. Now for a stereo guy like me, the first thing that came to my mind was “Finally a truck with room for a killer stereo.” This design for the 2006-2012 Dodge Ram Mega Cab is about the least intrusive design that I have. What this box does is replace the cargo bins that are in the bottom of the cargo area, but, unlike our other downfiring design, this one allows recline of the back seat. The bin comes out with a few bolts and this box drops right in. The fold down flaps that cover the gap between the rear seats and the storage bin also need to be unbolted. The box is designed so that when the seat back is folded down, but not sitting on the floor, the top of the box is level with the back of the seat so that cargo space is retained. It is a down fire box with 2.8cuft of airspace with around 6″ of mounting depth. This box can be configured for a wide combination of 8”, 10” and 12″ subs. There is enough space to fit a couple of 10s ported which would also sound nice. Let me know if there is anything you want done and I will build it for you.
This is a sealed subwoofer box. A sealed subwoofer box has a tight and punchy bass that is more articulate and more true to the music with a more natural sound. For customers who want louder deeper bass with the lower bass more pronounced. Because of the ported design, the bass will not be as tight and punchy, but there is double the bass of a sealed box with the same subs. If big bass is what you want then our ported box will be what you want.
This box is made out of 3/4″ MDF and is fully carpeted in matching carpet. The nickel plated spring loaded speaker terminals are mounted on the back of the box and the speaker wires are soldered on for a solid and reliable connection.
