2019-21 Dodge Ram 5th Gen Amplifier Installation Kit

I have been selling and installing audio equipment for over 15 years and one of my rules for installing is to do as much of the prep outside of the vehicle. The less time in the vehicle, the less of a risk you have of damaging something and it generally makes it faster since working at a bench is better than an awkward position in the vehicle. This is one of the main reasons we wanted these T-harnesses for our Dodge Ram customers.

This is a kit to install your new amplifiers into your:
– 2019-2021 5th Gen Ram 1500 Crew Cab
– 2019-2021 5th Gen Ram 1500 Quad Cab
– 2019-2021 5th Gen 2500-3500 Crew Cab
– 2019-2021 5th Gen 2500-3500 Mega Cab
They must have the Alpine or Harman Kardon premium sound systems. This will not work on the base model trucks.

To start, we use the popular Pac AmpPro AP4-CH41 digital interface that plugs in behind the radio. This gets your audio signal straight and gives you traditional front, rear and subwoofer RCA outputs, along with a remote turn on wire for your new amps and a subwoofer level control knob to mount on your dash.

Then, we include an amplifier integration harness that plugs in at the stock amplifier and bypasses the ANC System and gives you access to the stock speaker wires so you can run your new amplifier to your new speakers without having to run new wire through the truck. Your new truck has new, fresh 16ga copper wire, so why run new 16ga copper wire? The factory wiring is more than capable for this type of installation.

Now, where it gets tricky is that Ram uses the same amplifier plugs for all of their platforms. Meaning it’s the same plugs for a 5th Gen Ram 1500 Crew with Alpine as it is the Harman, and the same as the 2500-3500 trucks, but the outputs are different for all of them. So we prep the harness according to which truck and audio system it is that you have. So please let us know in the options what platform truck and audio system you have.

Also, these trucks have many different speaker locations. Our standard installation we focus on here is to do the four door speakers and the tweeters in the dash. But some customers want to replace everything, so specify which speaker locations it is that you want to keep and we will prewire the kit for those locations and label the wires for you for easy installation.

The Harman Kardon systems have additional tweeters for the front speakers. On the 1500s they are on the doors near the door handles, and on the Heavy Duty trucks they are on the sail panel behind the side mirrors. These speakers are run straight off the front door 6×9 speakers. Because of how they are from the factory, if you want them to be amplified separately, you will have to run new wires into the front doors.
