18-UP Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Alpine Amplifier Bypass Wiring Kit JL JLU JT
I have been selling and installing audio equipment for over 20 years and one of my rules for installing is to do as much of the prep outside of the vehicle. The less time in the vehicle, the less of a risk you have of damaging something and it generally makes it faster since working at a bench is better than an awkward position in the vehicle. This is one of the main reasons we wanted these T-harnesses for our Jeep Wrangler customers.
This is a kit to install your new amplifiers into your:
– 2018-up Jeep Wrangler JL
– 2018-up Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JLU
– 2018-up Jeep Gladiator JT
They must have the Alpine premium sound systems. This will not work on the base model Jeeps.
This is an amplifier integration harness that plugs in at the stock amplifier and bypasses the ANC System and gives you access to the stock speaker wires so you can run your new amplifier to your new speakers without having to run new wire through the Jeep. Your new Jeep has new, fresh 16ga copper wire, so why run new 16ga copper wire? The factory wiring is more than capable for this type of installation.
Now, where it gets tricky is that Mopar uses the same amplifier plugs for all of their platforms. Meaning it’s the same plugs for a Jeep JLU, JT as 5th Gen Ram 1500 Crew with Alpine as it is the Harman, and the same as the 2500-3500 trucks, but the outputs are different for all of them. So we prep the harness accordingly for your Jeep platform and audio system.
On the Wranglers with Alpine, there are two 3.5″ in the dash corners, 4″ in the knees, 3.5″ and 4″ in the sound bar, plus the subwoofer. We supply the 8 main speaker locations for the wiring and disconnect the wiring for the factory woofer. We extend the wiring 15ft and label them accordingly.
